FAQ for LY1-B25/1(S) MONOBLOCK Single-Pole SPD
1. What electrical systems is this SPD suitable for?
This single-pole SPD (LY1-B25/1(S)) supports L-PE or N-PE protection and is compatible with TN-S, TN-C, and TT low-voltage networks. It is installed mainly on the incoming side of main distribution boards in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. It meets Type 1 + Type 2 (Class I + II) surge protection requirements.
2. What is the surge discharge capability of this SPD?
The device provides a 25 kA (10/350 μs) impulse current (Iimp), 25 kA nominal discharge current (In, 8/20 μs), and a maximum discharge current (Imax) up to 100 kA. This ensures reliable protection even under strong lightning-induced surges.
3. Will the SPD affect the normal power supply during operation?
No. Under normal voltage conditions, the internal MOV components remain in a high-impedance state and do not interfere with the electrical system. The SPD activates only when a transient overvoltage occurs, safely diverting surge energy to ground.
4. Is the SPD compatible with all voltage levels?
The LY1-B25/1(S) supports operating voltages (Uc) from 150 V to 440 V AC (50/60 Hz), suitable for common single-phase 230 V and three-phase 400 V systems. Ensure your system voltage matches the rated voltage of the SPD before installation.
5. Does this SPD have a service life? How should it be maintained?
Yes. MOV-based SPDs naturally degrade after multiple surge events. This model features a status indicator (Green = OK / Red = Fault). If the indicator shows a fault, the SPD should be replaced immediately. For critical systems, periodic inspection every 1–2 years is recommended.
6. What standards and certifications does this SPD comply with?
The product is fully compliant with IEC 61643-11:2011 / EN 61643-11:2012 surge protection standards, ensuring safety and global engineering applicability.
7. Do you support OEM/ODM or private-label customization?
Yes. This model supports full OEM/ODM customization, including housing design, labeling, branding, packaging, and parameter configuration. Bulk and wholesale orders are available for distributors and project integrators.
