An automatic transfer switch can be useful in a factory without being responsible for the entire factory power system. For a compact ATS, the more realistic industrial application is usually...

A hospital automatic transfer switch should be selected according to the circuit it supplies, not simply because the installation is a hospital. For a generator-backed system, the main engineering question...

Data Center ATS Engineering Selection Selecting a data center automatic transfer switch starts with the power architecture, not with the ATS current rating. First identify the normal and emergency sources,...

Compact ATS Status Indicator Guide Compact automatic transfer switches use a simpler front-panel interface than large ATS controllers. On the LEEYEE compact ATS shown below, the user mainly sees A/B...

Automatic Transfer Switch Communication Guide Not every automatic transfer switch needs or includes Modbus communication. A compact ATS can perform normal automatic source transfer, manual switching and source-status indication without...

B2B Engineering & Project Integration Guide ATS BMS integration means connecting an automatic transfer switch to a building management system so the BMS can receive documented ATS status, alarm or...

When a compact automatic transfer switch is used in a generator backup or dual-source system, a project may also ask for utility status, generator status, transfer position or alarms to...

A compact automatic transfer switch is designed to transfer a load between two power sources. But if that ATS itself needs inspection, repair or replacement, it may become part of...

Mechanical and electrical interlocking protect different parts of an automatic transfer switch transfer sequence. In a conventional open-transition ATS, the objective is to disconnect one source before connecting the other...

Choosing between a 2P, 3P and 4P automatic transfer switch starts with one practical question: which current-carrying conductors must transfer when the ATS changes from one source to the other?...
